BARBARA MCMILLEN, Associate Professor of Songwriting at Collin College, will talk on THE BRIDGE: WHAT IS IT AND WHEN DO I NEED ONE?

• What is a bridge section of a song

• What song forms include a bridge

• How does the bridge fit into the story

• Where does the melody go in a bridge

• What about chord changes and key changes

ABOUT BARBARA MCMILLEN : Barbara is Associate Professor of Songwriting at Collin College and Founding President Emeritus of the Dallas Songwriters Association. She also serves as editor of Songwriters Notes. She has produced a number of songwriting conferences and lectured at many others and offers private consultations and online classes. 
She currently works with memory loss residents as a music therapist part time and professional performer of educational programs for libraries and book clubs.  
She is co-owner of the Texas Music Group an umbrella company for record labels, publishing, production and music consulting companies. She is a voting member of the Producers Wing of National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences which awards the Grammy. More at barbaramcmillen.com
