Back by Demand - Extreme Co-writes

Want to find out what it is like to go into a co-write with and established artist? We are going to put together a program that does just that. In this case, the artist has the melody and he or she want to add a lyric.

The melody is ......... Let It Be by the Beatles

Also, this artist has an idea of what they want the song to be about.

We will divide into small groups and pull a topic out of the hat for each group. No prewritten lyrics are allowed. You must remain on topic, and the chorus should reflect your topic in the hook.

HAPPY COWRITING!

  1. It was Co-Write Night at the old CCC Corral, and this time we did things a little different. At a recent Board meeting, Casey and Steve selected the melody for the Beatles' Let It Be. Lisa then came up with song topics for lyrics, which were handed out to groups of 3 or 4 Tuesday night. At the end of the program, teams sang their songs accompanied by guitar.

It was a fun night, the best DSA co-writing exercise I've been part of. -
